Published

This page will describe the basic things needed for the boats/kits we sell. Keep in mind this is a broad subject and only the general things are covered. There may be other requirements not listed below. But we've done our best to cover the basics.

Level 1 : Easy- RTR boats are in this class.
- Basic knowledge of simple tools, for example screw drivers, allen keys and wrenches and basic tools.
- In most cases you will have to read the directions, tighten screws, grease the cables, and calibrate the radio & esc prior to use.
- Add batteries and go.

Level 2 :Easy to Medium- ARTR boats will be in this class.
- These are more in the hobby class of RC boating. Geared more towards the person that likes to add their own radio system, tinker, and make their boats faster.
- These boats come with all the hard stuff done like the hardware is already installed in most cases.
- Most times the manual is not as detailed as the rtr boat.
- Basic knowledge of simple tools, for example screw drivers, allen keys and wrenches and basic tools.
- In most cases you will have to read the directions, tighten screws, grease the cables, and calibrate the radio & esc prior to use.
- Install optional servos and radio system.

Level 3: Medium to Hard- Bare hulls will be in this class.
- These are for the person that wants to build the boat to his/her own needs.
- There are dozens of ways to build the same hull, so these hulls will come with no instructions.
- The forum has tons of build threads and pictures of many of these boats we sell.
- You will need a have a good knowledge of working with drills, glue/epoxy, and sometimes soldering wires and things.
- You will need to measure and research what's needed.
- Because so many of these boats are similar in design, some people find it easier to start with an RTR or ARTR and then use as an example of how to build the boat they want.

Level 4 : Hard- Wood Kits are in this class
- Most wood kits come with a good step-by-step set of instructions on building the hull itself.
- Patience will be most needed for these types of builds. Sometimes you have to assemble a particular group of parts and then allow them to dry overnight.
- You will need a have a good knowledge of working with drills, cutting tools, glue/epoxy, and sometimes soldering wires and things.
