Last week, we began prop testing on a Black Jack 24. MODS: V3 strut, and rudder assembly.

Original:

Default prop. Stock was a Black Jack 29 prop. 1.6 " diameter , and an effective 2.06 " pitch. (Hi-Lift) , Nylon prop. Lot's of cavitation out of the hole. Switched to a Grim racer. 1.5 " diameter, and an effective 1.7" pitch. (low lift) prop. IT led to a very smooth ride, but a cut top speed. THE NEW prop, at 38mm, by 2.26 pitch, turned the Black Jack into a guided missile, and smooth ride. THE only thing done to the prop was , post balanced and sharpened. THIS roughly nine dollar prop, out performed some of my more expensive props. I would highly recommend it. For larger boats, nudge your way up to .40 mm. prop. Happy racing.
